Про книгу:

“Concentration of Will, or Strategies of the Warriors of Light” is the first book in the Ukrainian management discourse on the phenomenon of strategic leadership, or systems leadership. The book is based on examples of real Ukrainian cases of strategic decisions that were developed and implemented during the Great War and to which Volodymyr Pavelko, the author of Concentration of Will…, was directly involved. The book is for actors – creators of their own systems, representatives of the private and public spheres, NGOs, business school and university professors who want to think broadly and at the same time with strategic depth, to operate in categories larger than their own business or entrusted organisation. Subject. Authenticity. Vocation. Potential. The ability to think in multiple ways.  These and other issues raised by the author in the book will make the reader think about the ability to transform themselves, connect to higher-order meanings, and co-create ideas. And this book will help you do just that.

Опис:

The purpose of the book is to demonstrate the interaction of an entity and a complex system of managing strategic alliances necessary to enhance the value proposition for a selected consumer in a larger supersystem of influences.  We don’t create our product on our own and we no longer compete in isolation, we compete on the strength of our interconnections with other ecosystems. That is why this book is primarily about the victory over oneself, over one’s own darkness and the way of thinking that embraces the possible “wholeness” that can be realised by the subject. This book is also about overcoming the challenges of the bloodiest war of the century unleashed by Russia in Ukraine.

Рецензії:

From brilliant strategists to adventurers who masterfully create illusions, the difference between the two becomes apparent only after years or even decades. This book is the key to understanding the essence of strategy: it removes the veil of chaos, systemises intuitive knowledge and makes the complex simple and understandable.

Lev Zhidenko

There are various successful practices of management approaches. There are adherents of authoritarian systems and their shades, and there are adherents of democratic systems. There are those who consider the role of the leader to be decisive, and there are those who believe more in the system. Volodymyr Pavelko has dared to present his own model of leading an organisation on the path of strategy in turbulent times. This book is not an easy one, it requires the reader to make efforts and reflect on the pages with a pencil. If you want an intellectual challenge, this is the place for you. And even if you don’t agree with the author 99% of the time, he will force your brain to see the unobvious and perhaps find solutions that you couldn’t formulate in the usual way.

You are holding in your hands a book that allows you to look at the strategic interaction of social systems from a different perspective. And while I used to focus more on business cases, Concentration of Will… has become an opportunity for me to broaden my horizons and embrace the complex meanings in non-profit relationships. Thanks to the multidimensional cases, I clearly realised the possibility of modelling social ecosystems using systems thinking and value chain approaches. And this is a rather unexpected and not fully conscious practice that I would like to make part of my own projects from now on. “Concentration of Will… is more than a book. It’s a chance to see our entire country as an integral ecosystem. And right now, in times of difficult challenges, such a view is crucial for any actor who wants to develop despite the threatening external context and emerging obstacles.
